Former Mississippi Sea Wolves goaltender Matt Underhill tends net for the ECHL Alaska Aces, which continue in their quest for the 2005 Kelly Cup.

Underhill started the 2004-05 campaign with Mississippi before being traded to Alaska on March 22. The 6-foot-2 and 220-pound Underhill appeared in 24 games with the Sea Wolves posting three shutouts, a 13-8-3 record with a 2.65 goals-against average and .923 save percentage. A native of Campbell River, British Columbia, Underhill was runner up for Reebok Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week from January 17-23 and January 24-30, while being named runner up for Sun National Bank ECHL Saver of the Month for January.

In his third professional season, Underhill also played in one game this season with the St. John�s Maple Leafs of the American Hockey League and five games with the AHL Providence Bruins, where he compiled a 1-2-1 record to go along with one shutout, a 2.95 goals-against average and save percentage of .885.

During the 2003-04 campaign, Underhill appeared in his first National Hockey League game on March 7, 2004, making 29 saves with the Chicago Blackhawks against the Edmonton Oilers, before dropping a 4-3 overtime decision.

With the Aces during the regular season, Underhill picked up a perfect 3-0-0 record with a .943 save percentage and 2.00 goals-against average.

In the 2005 Kelly Cup Playoffs, Alaska eliminated the Bakersfield Condors in five games and Long Beach Ice Dogs in three straight with Underhill appearing three games, posting a 1-1 record, 3.31 goals-against average and .893 save percentage.

On Monday, Alaska duels the Trenton Titans in a do-or-die Game 7 of the National Conference Finals in Anchorage at 7:15 p.m. AT.
