Partners with the Community

* Supporting Education

* Helping Children Diagnosed with Cancer

* Providing Fundraising Opportunities for Charities and Organizations

* Serving Those in Need

* Promoting Youth Fitness Through Hockey

Throughout the Decade in the Den your Mississippi Sea Wolves have had a tradition of contributing to the quality of life on the Mississippi Gulf Coast through community service and fundraising. This tradition was a major reason why the current ownership stepped in and kept the team on the coast. They wanted to continue the tradition and make this team a true partner with the community.

Supporting Education

The Sea Wolves organization has made education a key area of involvement when it comes to serving the community. Over the past three years players from the Sea Wolves have participated in reading programs to thousands of young students across the Mississippi Gulf Coast and have helped raise money for scholarships to universities and junior colleges.

Helping Children Diagnosed with Cancer

Ask any Sea Wolves player who has played here recently what their most rewarding moment was and it will probably be the time they spent with their special child who was fighting cancer. For the past three seasons each Sea Wolves player has adopted a special child stricken with cancer spending quality one-on-one time with them. It might be a skate with the team, a pizza party, a trip to the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center, a movie, or a day at the arcade that brings the player and their child together, but whatever the event it is sure to be a special time for both.  The Sea Wolves also work with organizations, dedicated to assisting these children and their families, by raising funds through an annual golf tournament, jersey auction, and ticket/T-shirt sales. These organizations include:

  • Candlelighters
    • Adopt a Kid
  • Caps for Kids
  • Courtney Boynton Foundation

Providing Fundraising Opportunities for Charities and Organizations

One of the best kept secrets on the Mississippi Gulf Coast is how successful fundraising with the Mississippi Sea Wolves can be for an organization. During the past three years under new local ownership the Sea Wolves have helped raise nearly $300,000 for various organizations and charities.  Some of the organizations that have benefited from Sea Wolves Fundraising efforts include:

  • Courtney Boynton Foundation
  • Caps for Kids
  • Candlelighters
  • Boy Scouts of America
  • Youth for Christ
  • Southern Mississippi Alumni Association
  • American Red Cross

Serving Those in Need

The fans of the Mississippi Sea Wolves are some of the most generous people on the Gulf Coast. Each year we can depend on them to help our community in a number of ways. Last year after Hurricane Ivan struck our neighbors in Pensacola, the Sea Wolves with the help of our fans, helped raise nearly $5,000 in one evening for the Red Cross.  Here are some of the other projects and drives that the fans and the Sea Wolves organization have done to assist those in need.

          Teddy Bear Toss Working with local law enforcement to collect stuffed animals to give to children in need

          Loaves and Fishes Food Collection

          Military Care Package Collection Working with the CB Base to provide the men and women serving us overseas with personal care items

          Red Cross Blood Drive

Promoting Youth Fitness Through Hockey

Hockey is not only an exciting game, but an excellent means of achieving physical fitness. The sport requires development of the essential facets of good physical conditioning including: agility, strength, power, and endurance.  The Sea Wolves organization supports youth hockey through a number of fundraising events/activities. This year the Sea Wolves hope to introduce or develop further the sport of floor hockey in many of our schools and work closely with physical education teachers to help improve the physical fitness of children.
