Left wing Jeff Hutchins was loaned to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League on April 20 after Mississippi's season ended two days earlier.
The 27-year-old Hutchins, who was in his third season with Mississippi, played in 38 regular season games with the Sea Wolves netting 20 goals, including seven power-play tallies, 17 assists, 37 points, a plus/minus of +15 and 137 penalty minutes. In the 2005 Kelly Cup Playoffs, Hutchins had two assists in three games to go along with 21 penalty minutes.
Making his first All-Star Game appearance, Hutchins collected an assist at the 2005 ECHL All-Star Game on January 26 and finished second in the Hardest Shot event at the 2005 ECHL All-Star Skills Competition with a slapshot clocked at 92.1 miles per hour.
A native of Toronto, Ontario, Hutchins also played in the AHL in 2004-05 with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, registering 39 penalty minutes in 14 games, and with the Grand Rapids Griffins, scoring one goal with 45 penalty minutes in 12 games.
The 6-foot and 205-pound Hutchins is with Rochester for the second time this season, after scoring one goal in three games with the Americans in January.
Rochester remains in the 2005 Calder Cup Playoffs and Hutchins has appeared in four postseason games garnering one shot on net.
After defeating the Hamilton Bulldogs in four straight games in the opening round of the AHL playoffs, the Americans will face the Manitoba Moose in the best-of-seven North Division Final beginning with Game 1 at 7:05 p.m. ET on Wednesday at The Blue Cross Arena at Rochester War Memorial.
