Former Mississippi defenseman Sheldon Brookbank is in his second season with the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks of the American Hockey League.

In 2001-02, Brookbank started his professional career with the Sea Wolves accumulating eight goals, 29 points, 137 penalty minutes in 62 games. A native of Lanigan, Saskatchewan, Brookbank also appeared in six games with the Grand Rapids Griffins that season, where he posted one assist and 24 penalty minutes.

In his second professional season, Brookbank advanced to the AHL full-time with Grand Rapids, where he posted a career-high 13 points (2g-11a).

In 2003-04, the 6-foot-2 and 210-pound Brookbank moved over to Cincinnati and racked up career-highs with 216 penalty minutes in 74 games.

This season as a fourth-year professional, Brookbank flexed his muscle over 60 games, registering 181 penalty minutes to go along with one goal and 11 assists. In the postseason, Brookbank has tallied 34 penalty minutes in five games.

The 24-year-old Brookbank and the Mighty Ducks continue their quest for the 2005 Calder Cup against the defending champion Milwaukee Admirals, with the best-of-seven West Division Semifinal tied 3-3. The series wraps up on Sunday with Game 7 getting underway at 5:30 p.m. ET at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.
