Hutchins Returns To Rochester

BILOXI, Miss. � Mississippi Sea Wolves general manager and head coach Bob Woods announced today that ECHL All-Star left wing Jeff Hutchins has been loaned to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.

Hutchins, 26, joins Rochester for his second tour of duty in 2004-05 after scoring one goal in three games with the Americans in January. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Hutchins also played in the AHL with Bridgeport, registering 39 penalty minutes in 14 games, and with Grand Rapids, scoring one goal with 45 penalty minutes in 12 games.

In 38 regular season games with Mississippi this season, the 6-foot and 205-pound Hutchins tallied 20 goals, including seven power-play goals, 17 assists, 37 points, a plus/minus of +15 and 137 penalty minutes. In the 2005 Kelly Cup Playoffs, Hutchins registered two assists in three games along with 21 penalty minutes. Hutchins also picked up an assist at the 2005 ECHL All-Star Game on January 26 and finished second in the Hardest Shot event at the 2005 ECHL All-Star Skills Competition with a slapshot registered at 92.1 miles per hour.

Hutchins will be available to the Americans for tonight�s Game 1 of the best-of-seven North Division Semifinals at 7:05 p.m. ET against the Hamilton Bulldogs at The Blue Cross Arena at Rochester War Memorial.
