BILOXI, Miss. � The Mississippi Sea Wolves announced today that they have released goaltender Chuck Thuss, who served as an emergency back-up goaltender last night against Columbia.
Thuss, 33, is in his fourth season as Mississippi�s director of player development and remains in that capacity. A native of Arkona, Ontario, Thuss played professionally for seven years, including parts of four seasons with the Sea Wolves from 1999-2002. During the 1998-99 campaign, Thuss won Mississippi's Fan Favorite award and was a member of the Mississippi�s Kelly Cup Championship team. The Sea Wolves all-time goaltending leader with eight shutouts, Thuss appeared in 120 games with the team posting 58-39-10 record, 2.88 goals-against average and .911 save percentage.
The Sea Wolves begin a three-game road trip at 7:05 p.m. on Friday against the Louisiana IceGators at the Cajundome in Lafayette.
