BILOXI, Miss. � Mississippi Sea Wolves general manager and head coach Bob Woods announced today that left wing Pat O�Leary has been traded to the Reading Royals for right wing Nick Greenough (GREEN-oh).
O�Leary, 25, netted 12 goals, collected 11 assists, 23 points and 71 penalty minutes in 52 games with Mississippi. A native of Plymouth, Minnesota, O�Leary was named Mississippi�s Player of the Month for November, 2004 and scored his first career professional hat trick on November 20 at Texas. Selected by the Phoenix Coyotes in the third round, 73rd overall in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-foot-2 and 200-pound O�Leary started the season with the Pee Dee Pride, where he registered four assists and eight penalty minutes in six games.
Greenough, 24, returns to the Sea Wolves after starting his professional career with the team during the 2001-02 season. The 6-foot-4 and 225-pound Greenough appeared in 42 regular season games with Mississippi in 2001-02, tallying six goals, nine assists, 15 points and 224 penalty minutes. In the 2002 Kelly Cup Playoffs, Greenough notched a goal and an assist in seven games with Mississippi, while accumulating 48 penalty minutes. A native of Windsor, Nova Scotia, Greenough this season with the Augusta Lynx, where he played in five games racking up 24 penalty minutes. In 37 games with Reading, Greenough scored three goals and had 78 penalty minutes.
Greenough is expected to suit up for Mississippi�s next game at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday against the Idaho Steelheads, the defending Kelly Cup Champions, at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Note the game was moved up one week from its original date of Tuesday, March 22.
