BILOXI, Miss. � Mississippi Sea Wolves general manager and head coach Bob Woods announced today that defenseman Chris Cava has been placed on the 7-day injured reserve.
Cava, 24, has accumulated career-highs of seven goals, 16 assists and 23 points with Mississippi this season. The 6-foot and 200-pound Cava has also registered a team-high 156 penalty minutes while appearing in 52 games. A native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Cava is in his fourth full season of professional hockey and third year with the Sea Wolves.
The Sea Wolves get back into action at 7:35 p.m. tomorrow against the Florida Everblades at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
Promotions for tomorrow�s game include an attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the most balloons popped simultaneously. The first 3,000 fans will receive a balloon courtesy of SpaceWalk of Ocean Springs.
The Kelly Cup will be on hand for photo opportunities tomorrow, plus it�s also Youth For Christ Night featuring a postgame jersey auction. In addition, the first 2,000 fans will receive Thundersticks courtesy of Aaron�s Sales and Leasing in Long Beach.
