Hutchins Called Up To Bridgeport

BILOXI, Miss. � Mississippi Sea Wolves general manager and head coach Bob Woods announced today that ECHL All-Star left wing Jeff Hutchins has been loaned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.

Hutchins, 26, heads to his third AHL team in 2004-05. The 6-foot and 205-pound Hutchins was assigned by the AHL Grand Rapids Griffins on Friday after appearing in 12 games, scoring one goal and collecting 45 penalty minutes. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Hutchins also played in three games this season with the Rochester Americans scoring one goal.  On January 26, Hutchins scored in his first ECHL All-Star Game appearance and finished second in the Hardest Shot event at the 2005 ECHL All-Star Skills Competition with a slapshot registered at 92.1 miles per hour. In 38 games with Mississippi this season, Hutchins has tallied 18 goals, six power-play goals, 16 assists, 34 points, a team-leading plus/minus of +14 and 128 penalty minutes.

Hutchins will be available to Bridgeport for the Sound Tigers next game at 7:05 p.m. ET tomorrow against the Providence Bruins at the Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Four Mississippi players have been loaned to the AHL this season consisting of Hutchins, goaltender Matt Underhill (St. John�s and Providence), right wing Lee Jacobson (Cincinnati) and right wing Jay Legault (Grand Rapids).

The Sea Wolves next game gets underway at 7:05 p.m. CT tomorrow against the Pensacola Ice Pilots at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. It�s Discounted Daiquiri Night, offering $2 off each daiquiri.
