Mississippi Takes Three Of Four

BILOXI, Miss. � Mississippi won its opening three games last week before falling in the fourth, to register six of a possible eight points over the last seven days.

The Sea Wolves topped the Florida Everblades 4-3 on Tuesday at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and edged the Gwinnett Gladiators 3-2 in the shootout on Friday at the Wolves Den. On Saturday, Mississippi outlasted the Pensacola Ice Pilots 3-2 in 17 rounds of the shootout at the Pensacola Civic Center before falling 3-0 to Pensacola on Sunday at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.

Through 55-of-72 games, the Sea Wolves have compiled a 30-21-4 overall record for 64 points.

Mississippi is tied for third place with the Gwinnett Gladiators in the ECHL South Division and ranks in a tie with Gwinnett for seventh in the 12-team American Conference.

The Sea Wolves are 16-11-1 at home, 14-10-3 on the road, 3-2 in overtime games and 7-2 in shootouts.

* Mississippi goal scorers were Travis Lisabeth with a pair, Louis Dumont and Mike Jarmuth.
* Florida received tallies from Tim O�Connell, Brad Church and Ryan Brindley.
* Sea Wolves goaltender Randy Petruk, who was playing against his former team for the first time, made 30 saves to register the win.

* Mississippi�s Austin Miller scored the deciding goal in the fifth round of the shootout.
* Sea Wolves collected goals in regulation off the sticks of Bates Battaglia and Travis Lisabeth.
* Gladiators netting markers were Mike Stathopoulos and Chris Durno.
* Mississippi�s Phil Sauve had 39 saves to earn the victory.
* Gwinnett�s Sean Fields stopped 21 shots to suffer the shootout setback.

* Longest shootout game in Mississippi team history.
* Sea Wolves� Jeff Hutchins netted the deciding goal in the 17th round of the shootout.
* Mississippi goal scorers in regulation were John Evangelista and Nicolas Corbeil.
* Pensacola had goals from Ryan O�Keefe and Aaron Phillips.
* Sea Wolves goaltender Randy Petruk turned aside 39 shots in regulation and overtime, plus 14 more in the shootout to register the win.
* Ice Pilots goalie Todd Ford made 29 saves in regulation and overtime, while stopping 13-of-17 shots in the shootout.

Ice Pilots 3, Sea Wolves 0 � Loss
* Pensacola goaltender Frederic Cloutier stopped 41 shots to collect his fourth shutout of the season.
* Ice Pilots had goals from Dwayne Hay, Nick Lindberg and Scott May.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK � Right wing Travis Lisabeth netted three goals to lead Mississippi last week. The 6-foot and 200-pound Lisabeth tallied a pair of goals in the Sea Wolves victory over Florida on Tuesday. A native of Langton, Ontario, Lisabeth followed it up by scoring one goal in Mississippi�s 3-2 shootout win against Gwinnett. The 24-year-old Lisabeth has compiled 17 goals and 42 points in 53 games this season.
 
GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK � Randy Petruk won both of his appearances last week posting a 2-0-0 record with a 2.40 goals-against average and .932 save percentage. On Tuesday, the 5-foot-10 and 195-pound Petruk defeated his former team the Florida Everblades 4-3 by making 30 saves. A native of Cranbrook, British Columbia, Petruk turned aside 39-of-41 shots in regulation and overtime on Saturday in Pensacola before stopping 14 shots in the 17-round shootout to backstop Mississippi to a 2-1 shootout win in the longest shootout game in team history. A fourth round selection, 107th overall, by the Colorado Avalanche in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, Petruk was acquired in a trade with Bakersfield on February 19.
