BILOXI, Miss. � Mississippi Sea Wolves general manager and head coach Bob Woods announced today that the team has acquired center Stephen Greeley (GREE-lee) from the Charlotte Checkers completing the December 31 trade that sent defenseman Brian Escobedo (EHS-coh-bee-doh) to Charlotte for future considerations.
Greeley, 24, is in his first professional season after playing four years at Boston University. The 5-foot-7 and 160-pound Greeley had one goal, four assists, a plus/minus of +3 and eight penalty minutes in 11 games with Charlotte. A native of Scituate, Massachusetts, Greeley started the season with the Pee Dee Pride of the ECHL, where he collected six assists, a plus/minus of +6 and two penalty minutes in 14 games.
Greeley will be available to the Sea Wolves at 6:30 p.m. CT tomorrow as Mississippi travels to Estero, Florida to take on the Florida Everblades.
