Mississippi Takes Two Of Three

BILOXI, Miss. � In the first of 10 � three games in three days � the Mississippi Sea Wolves won a pair of home games in the shootout to register four of a possible six points last week.

On Friday, the Sea Wolves dropped a 6-3 decision at Florida against the Everblades. Mississippi returned home on Saturday to edge the Gwinnett Gladiators 4-3 in the shootout and then on Sunday, the Sea Wolves got by the Texas Wildcatters in the shootout, 3-2.

After five of 72 regular season games, the Sea Wolves have an overall record of 3-2-0 for six points. Mississippi is 3-1-0 at home, 0-1-0 on the road and 2-0 in shootouts.

Mississippi is tied for second in the South Division with Florida and tied with the Everblades for fifth in the American Conference, where the top eight of 12 teams will make the ECHL Kelly Cup Playoffs.

* Mississippi�s Anthony Battaglia tallied a shorthand goal in the second period, while Travis Lisabeth netted the tying goal with 2:22 remaining in regulation

PLAYER OF THE WEEK � Right wing Travis Lisabeth scored goals in back-to-back victories last week. On Saturday, the 6-foot and 200-pound Lisabeth netted his first goal of the season against Gwinnett, as the Sea Wolves went on to a shootout win. The native of Langton, Ontario tallied a clutch tying goal with 2:22 remaining against Texas on Sunday to push the game to extra time, which was also won by Mississippi.

GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK � Goaltender Randy Hevey appeared in two games last week posting a 1-0-0 record including a victory in his first-ever ECHL start on Saturday. The 6-foot and 185-pound Hevey turned aside 22 shots against Gwinnett, backstopping Mississippi to a 4-3 shootout win. A native of Chicopee, Massachusetts, Hevey also played 14 minutes on Friday at Florida, making 15 saves on 16 shots in his ECHL debut.
