BILOXI, Miss. � Mississippi Sea Wolves general manager and coach Bob Woods announced today that the team has re-signed center Louis Dumont (LEW-ee DEW-mohnt), the ECHL�s all-time career points and assists leader.
Dumont becomes the first player to sign a Sea Wolves contract for the 2004-05 season. The 31-year-old enters his second season with Mississippi and 11th year of professional hockey. A native of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Dumont tied for the team lead with 33 goals last season, and tied for fourth overall in the ECHL scoring race with 84 points. The 5-foot-10 and 180-pound Dumont also registered a plus/minus of +30 and was one of only two Mississippi players to appear in all 72 games. He was selected Mississippi�s Player of the Month for February and was named InGlasCo ECHL Player of the Week for February 16-22. Dumont was awarded the Mississippi Fan�s Choice Awards for Best New Player and the Ralph Coburn Community Service Award.
Dumont continues to rank among the ECHL all-time career leaders in several categories including first overall in points (754), first in assists (465), seventh in goals (289), and third overall in games played (634). On November 27, Dumont became the ECHL all-time career scoring leader by netting a goal against Columbus, which was his 690th league point, surpassing Rod Taylor. Then on March 21 at Texas, Dumont became the league�s all-time career assist leader by registering two helpers for a total of 461, surpassing Chris Valicevic.
�I like the organization and the people in charge and I am excited to return to the Sea Wolves,� Dumont said. �My goal is to win the Kelly Cup and I feel that we have a great chance to do that this upcoming season in Mississippi.�

The Sea Wolves open their ninth ECHL season at home on October 22 against the Louisiana IceGators at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
