Left wing Jeff Hutchins was loaned to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League on February 18 and has remained with the team since that time.
Hutchins had a breakout season with Mississippi this season, tallying 26 goals and 45 points in 48 games. The 6-foot and 205-pound Hutchins received his first call up to Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League in December, where he picked up two penalty minutes. Hutchins also appeared in 22 regular season games with Rochester in 2003-04, netting one goal and five points along with 72 penalty minutes.
Hutchins has appeared in one postseason game with the Americans, accumulating two penalty minutes as the Americans knocked off the Syracuse Crunch in seven games in the North Division Semifinals.
Rochester continues its quest for the 2004 Calder Cup by going up against the Hamilton Bulldogs in the best-of-seven North Division Finals beginning Wednesday at Hamilton.
