Where Is He Now? Francois Beauchemin

Defenseman Francois Beauchemin is playing for the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League, where he led all Hamilton defensemen in scoring with nine goals and 36 points during the regular season.

In 2001-02, Beauchemin appeared in seven games with Mississippi, before being recalled by Quebec of the American Hockey League. The 6-foot and 205-pound Beauchemin tallied one goal, three assists and two penalty minutes with the Sea Wolves.

A native of Sorel, Quebec, Beauchemin is presently playing for the Hamilton Bulldogs in the AHL Calder Cup Playoffs and has tallied two goals and four assists in nine postseason games.

The Bulldogs trail the Rochester Americans, 3-0 in the best-of-seven North Division Finals.

Selected in the third round, 75th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 1998, the 23-year-old Beauchemin is one of eight former Sea Wolves players to advance to the National Hockey League. In his fourth-year of professional hockey, Beauchemin appeared in one game with Montreal during the 2002-03 season.
