BILOXI, Miss. � Mississippi Sea Wolves coach and director of hockey operations Bob Woods announced today that the team has acquired right wing Jack Baker from the Florence Pride for futures.
Baker, 24, appeared in seven games with Florence tallying one goal, four points and four penalty minutes. The 5-foot-9 and 170-pound Baker also played in 27 games with Augusta this season, notching four goals and 14 points, while accumulating 18 penalty minutes. A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Baker is in his second full season of professional hockey after playing four years at Boston University.
�Jack is a skilled player who has played at the American Hockey League level,� said Woods. �We have been looking for someone to fill the void left by three players on loan to the AHL. Baker is an addition that will fit well on our roster.�
Baker is expected to be in the Sea Wolves lineup for games at 7:35 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday against the Florida Everblades at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Promotions tomorrow consist of 2-for-1 military, sponsored by Keesler Federal Credit Union and a postgame jersey action to benefit Youth For Christ.
