BILOXI, Miss. � Mississippi Sea Wolves Professional Hockey announced today that center Louis Dumont has been named the organization�s Player of the Month for February, defenseman Jason Kean is the Rookie of the Month, while Greg Gardner earned Goaltender of the Month honors.
Dumont, 31, recorded six goals, 15 points and plus/minus of +2 in 11 games. The 5-foot-10 and 180-pound Dumont was named the InGlasCo ECHL Player of the Week for February 16-22 by tallying four goals and eight points over three games. A native of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Dumont leads Mississippi with 28 goals and is second on the team with a plus/minus of +25 and 68 points, which ranks fifth in the ECHL scoring race.
Kean, 24, tallied one goal and three points, an even rating and 40 penalty minutes. Overall this season, the 5-foot-11 and 195-pound Kean has notched two goals, nine points and a plus/minus of +10 in 36 games.
Gardner, 28, went 5-3-0 through eight games in February. A native of Mississauga, Ontario, Gardner compiled a 2.81 goals against average and .897 save percentage. Overall this season, the 6-foot and 190-pound Gardner is 21-12-3 with a 2.64 goals against average and .917 save percentage.
The Sea Wolves get back into action at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday against the Pensacola Ice Pilots at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Richie Jones, a local country music entertainer, will sing the National Anthem.
