BILOXI, Miss. � Mississippi Sea Wolves Professional Hockey announced today that right wing Travis Lisabeth has been named the organization�s Player of the Month for January, defenseman Jason Kean is the Rookie of the Month, while Greg Gardner takes the Goaltender of the Month honors.
The Sea Wolves finished with their best-ever record in the month of January, going 9-2-1, for a .792 winning percentage.
Lisabeth, 23, registered points in each of Mississippi�s 12 games in January, extending his point streak to a team-tying 13 straight. The 6-foot and 200-pound Lisabeth had team-highs with eight goals, 18 points and plus/minus of +15. The native of Langton, Ontario finished with a plus rating in 11 of 12 games during the month. Lisabeth also had two power-play goals and one game-winner. In 42 games, he has 16 goals, 33 points and plus/minus of +13 this season.
Kean, 24, picked up three assists and accumulated a plus/minus of +8 for the month. Overall this season, the 5-foot-11 and 195-pound native of Nanaimo, British Columbia has picked up one goal, six points and plus/minus of +10 through 25 games.
Gardner, 28, posted a 6-1-0 record over seven games during January. The 6-foot and 190-pound Gardner compiled a 2.40 goals against average and .930 save percentage. The native of Mississauga, Ontario is 16-9-3 with a 2.59 goals against average and sports a .921 save percentage.
The Sea Wolves get back into action at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday against the Florence Pride at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. The broadcast starts at 6:20 p.m. with the Nextel Pregame Show on ESPN Radio WXBD-AM 1490 and online at msseawolves.com.
