BILOXI, Miss. � Mississippi Sea Wolves center Brent Gauvreau, on loan to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League, scored the game-tying goal with 1:54 remaining in regulation, lifting Bridgeport into a 2-2 overtime final at home against the Albany River Rats at Harbor Yard in Connecticut.
Gauvreau, an ECHL All-Star, also finished the game with a plus/minus of +2 and had three shots on net. The goal was Gauvreau�s first-ever AHL point. The 23-year-old was playing in his seventh career AHL game, but first since the 2001-02 season, when he appeared in three games with the Springfield Falcons. The point gained by the Sound Tigers improves their record to 25-11-6-3, and propels the team into a first place tie in the AHL�s East Division with 59 points, along with the Philadelphia Phantoms.
The Sea Wolves get back into action at 7:05 p.m. on Friday against the Louisiana IceGators at the Cajundome in Lafayette. It�s a showdown for first place in the ECHL�s Central Division, both teams enter with 60 points.
