BILOXI, Miss. � Mississippi Sea Wolves right wing Steffon Walby (STEHF-ihn WAHL-bee) has been selected captain for the Western Conference at the Par-A-Dice ECHL All-Star Game on Wednesday at the Carver Arena ice at the Peoria Civic Center, Illinois.
In his third season as Mississippi�s captain, Walby will be captain for his second straight ECHL All- Star Game. Last year, Walby and the Southern Conference All-Stars fell 8-2 to the Northern Conference All-Stars at Estero, Florida.
�It�s a big honor,� said Walby, who is also a starter for the Western Conference. �I�m going to have a lot of family and friends in attendance, so I hope to do better this year.�
The All-Star Skills Competition is on Tuesday and Walby will be taking part in the ITECH Breakaway Relay and he�s a shooter in the accuracy competition.
Linemate Brent Gauvreau is also representing Mississippi as a starter for the Western Conference. Gauvreau is taking part in the one-on-one puck control relay.and will be passing the puck in the accuracy competition.
Sponsored by the Par-A-Dice Hotel Casino and hosted by the Peoria Rivermen, the Par-A-Dice ECHL All-Star Game will be played at 7:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday at Carver Arena at the Peoria Civic Center.
