Rochester Recalls Gardner |
BILOXI, Miss. � The Mississippi Sea Wolves of the ECHL announced that goaltender Greg Gardner has been recalled by the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.
Gardner, 28, rejoins Rochester for the second time this season. Under contract to the Americans, Gardner was recalled by the team from December 7-18, but did not appear in any games. The 6-foot and 190-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario has seen action in 21 games with Mississippi this season, posting a 10-8-3 record, 2.65 goals against average and .919 save percentage. Gardner attended the 2003 training camps with Rochester and for the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League.
Gardner will be with Rochester for its next game at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the SBC Center in San Antonio, Texas, as the Americans visit the Rampage.
The Sea Wolves get back into action with two home games this weekend starting at 7:35 p.m. tomorrow against the Columbia Inferno at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. It�s 2-for-1 military, sponsored by Keesler Federal Credit Union. The game can be heard beginning at 7:20 p.m. with the Nextel Pregame Show on ESPN Radio WXBD-AM 1490 and online at www.msseawolves.com.
On Saturday at 7:35 p.m., Mississippi hosts the Louisiana IceGators at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Promotions include $2 drafts and $2 hotdogs from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and �Teddy Bear Toss Night.� Fans are asked to bring a stuffed animal to throw onto the ice immediately following the Sea Wolves first goal. The local police and fire department are the recipients. They will provide the stuffed animals for children at accident scenes and in times of crisis. The broadcast will start at 7:20 p.m. with the Nextel Pregame Show on WTNI-AM 1640 and online at www.msseawolves.com.
