Evangelista Placed On IR; Blais Activated

BILOXI, Miss. � Mississippi Sea Wolves coach and director of hockey operations Bob Woods announced today that center John Evangelista (ih-vahn-jehl-LIHST-ah) has been placed on the 7-day injured reserve, while center Dwayne Blais (BLAH) has been activated from the 7-day injured reserve.

Evangelista, 28, has tallied two goals, seven points and 26 penalty minutes after 22 games this season. The 5-foot-9 and 185-pound native of St. Catharines, Ontario is in his fifth season with Mississippi and sixth year of pro hockey.

Blais, 26, missed four games while on the injured reserve. The 5-foot-9 and 185-pound native of Sudbury, Ontario has netted two goals and picked up two assists this season in 20 games with Mississippi.

Mississippi gets back into action at 7:05 p.m. on Friday at Pensacola. The game broadcast begins at 6:50 p.m. with the Nextel Pregame Show on WXBD-AM 1490 and online at www.msseawolves.com.

The Sea Wolves next home game is at 7:35 p.m. on Saturday against the Louisiana IceGators at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Promotions include �Hook's Holiday Toy Drive�. The Sea Wolves mascot, Hook, is asking fans to bring a new unwrapped toy to the game for delivery to the pediatric ward at Gulfport Memorial Hospital.
