BILOXI, Miss. � The Mississippi Sea Wolves captured four of a possible six points last week, to move into sole possession of second place in the Central Division.
On Tuesday, the Sea Wolves edged Greenville 3-2 at the BI-LO Center. Mississippi dropped a 4-3 decision at Greensboro on Thursday. Then on Sunday, the Sea Wolves trounced Texas, 4-0.
After 17 games, the Sea Wolves have 20 points with an overall record of 8-5-4. Mississippi is five points behind the first place Gwinnett Gladiators. The Sea Wolves remain unbeaten at home at 4-0-3, and have a 4-5-1 record on the road.
Mississippi visits Pensacola on Tuesday, hosts Columbus on Thursday and travels to Pensacola on Sunday.

In the last meeting, the Ice Pilots crushed the Sea Wolves, 6-2, on November 1 at the Pensacola Civic Center. Pensacola defenseman Corey Neilson picked up an ECHL season-high five assists and rookie Jim Abbott tallied a hat trick. The Ice Pilots scored four power-play goals in the win. Brian Eklund made 40 saves in the Pensacola net.
Pensacola�s Greg Chambers has two goals and three assists in the season series.
Roger Maxwell leads the Sea Wolves with two goals against the Ice Pilots. John Evangelista and Louis Dumont each have a goal and an assist in the season series. Brent Gauvreau and Andrei Lupandin have two assists to lead Mississippi in that department.
Mississippi is 38-17-3 all-time against Pensacola in the regular season. The Sea Wolves are 17-10-1 all-time against the Ice Pilots at the Hangar.

The second of a nine-game season series. Mississippi defeated Columbus 6-1 on October 25 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
Mississippi�s Brent Gauvreau led the way offensively, notching four points, on a goal and three assists. Jeff Hutchins finished with a +4 rating and Anthony Battaglia scored the game-winning goal for the Sea Wolves, while Greg Gardner turned away 26 shots to earn the victory.
Kenton Smith scored the lone goal for Columbus on October 25. Dan Tudin and J.F. Plourde collected the helpers.
Mississippi is 7-1-0 all-time against Columbus during the regular season. The Sea Wolves have never lost at the Wolves Den against the Cottonmouths, going 5-0-0.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK � Louis Dumont scored in each of the three Mississippi games last week, collecting three goals, five points and a +3 rating as he chases Rod Taylor for the all-time ECHL points lead. A native of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Dumont is just one point shy of tying the all-time record of 689 points. He netted a goal and an assist in the Sea Wolves� victory at Greenville. The 5-foot-10 and 180-pound center had two points at Greensboro, notching another goal and an assist. Dumont finished the week by tallying his third goal in as many games against Texas on Sunday.
GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK � Greg Gardner appeared in all three games last week, highlighted by a 32-save shutout performance over Texas on Sunday. The 6-foot and 190-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario made a total of 91 stops on 97 shots for a sparkling .938 save percentage. The 28-year-old stopped 28 shots in the win at Greenville and turned away 31 in the loss at Greensboro.
