Mississippi Trades Buckley

BILOXI, Miss. Mississippi Sea Wolves coach and director of hockey operations Bob Woods announced today that goaltender Mike Buckley has been traded to the Gwinnett Gladiators for futures.

Buckley, 26, played in one game this season for Mississippi on November 16 at Augusta, making 22 saves in the Sea Wolves 3-1 loss. The 6-foot-1 and 175-pound goaltender also appeared in one game this season with the Fort Wayne Komets of the United Hockey League, dropping a 3-1 decision at Columbus on October 31.

We were crowded in the crease, said Sea Wolves coach Bob Woods. With three goalies on the roster, we had to make a move and this is going to be the best situation for Mike Buckley.

The Sea Wolves return to the ice tomorrow at home at 4:05 p.m. against the Texas Wildcatters at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Mississippis Louis Dumont needs just two points to tie Rod Taylor for the all-time ECHL scoring lead. The game promotions for tomorrow include the Party Four-Pack consisting of four tickets, four hot dogs and four soft drinks, starting at only $44. Its also the 3rd annual Nextel/Sea Wolves Howl Against Hunger. The first 2,000 fans that bring canned goods or non-perishables for the Back Bay Mission, will receive a Howl Towel. Listen live on WTNI-AM 1640 and online at www.msseawolves.com beginning with the Nextel Pregame Show at 3:50 p.m.

Individual game tickets are available at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum box office, all TicketMaster locations and by calling 228-594-3707.
