Thuss Named Assistant Coach For Team USA Junior World

BILOXI, Miss. The Mississippi Sea Wolves announced on Tuesday that Sea Wolves Director of Player Development Chuck Thuss has been named Assistant Coach for Team USA Junior World Inline Hockey, responsible for goaltending.

Team USA, member of the Amateur Athletic Union, is one of 18 nations competing at the Junior World Inline Hockey Championships to be held in Detroit, Michigan next month.

The young men on Team USA are 18 years and under, and the team consists of 12 skaters and two goaltenders from across the United States.

Team USA will hold a practice, which is open to the public, at the Harrison County Skate Park in Gulfport, Mississippi on Monday, July 28 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Its an unbelievable honor to be part of this team. I am looking forward to working along with Team USA Head Coach Lenny Alsfeld from New Orleans, along with Assistant Coach Peter Dale, said Thuss. I hope hockey fans take advantage of the opportunity to see this elite inline hockey team show their skills at the Harrison County Skate Park on July 28.

Thuss, 31, remains with the Sea Wolves as Director of Player Development and will be entering his third season in that capacity. The former goaltender played professional ice hockey for seven years, including four seasons with Mississippi. During the 1998-99 campaign, Thuss won the Fan Favorite Award and was a member of the Sea Wolves ECHL Kelly Cup Championship team.

The Sea Wolves begin their eighth season as a member of the ECHL in October.
