BILOXI, Miss. � Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Bob Woods, of the Mississippi Sea Wolves announced today, five additions to the training camp roster. Joining the team are defenseman Chris Cava (KAHV-ah), forward Jeff Hutchins, forward Travis Lisabeth, defenseman Austin Miller and defenseman Steve O�Rourke.
The Sea Wolves roster now stands at 20, consisting of 11 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders.
Cava, 23, racked up a Sea Wolves team record last season, registering 223 penalty minutes for a defensemen. The 6-foot, 200-pound native of Thunder Bay, Ontario also tallied one goal and added nine assists over 57 games with Mississippi.
Hutchins, 25, comes back to the team after attending the Manchester Monarchs training camp of the American Hockey League. As a rookie for Mississippi last season, he notched 10 goals and picked up 19 assists, while accumulating 216 penalty minutes over 68 games. The 6-foot, 205-pound native of Toronto, Ontario enters his second season of professional hockey.
Lisabeth, 23, returns after attending the training camp for Manchester of the AHL. Last season, the 6-foot, 200-pound native of Langton, Ontario collected 18 goals, 17 assists and 140 penalty minutes with Mississippi in 70 games.
Miller, 25, arrives after competing at Manchester�s camp of the AHL. Last season with Mississippi, he potted six goals and added seven helpers, to go along with 75 penalty minutes in 51 contests. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound hails from Vestal, New York.
O�Rourke, 29, suited up for the Bracknell Bees of the British IceHockey Super League collecting eight assists and 14 penalty minutes in 25 games. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound native of Summerland, British Columbia was selected by the New York Islanders in the seventh round (159th overall) in 1992.
The Sea Wolves play two preseason games at Florida this weekend at TECO Arena in Estero, Florida.
On Saturday, Mississippi takes on the Florida Everblades at 6:30 p.m. CT.
Then on Sunday, the Sea Wolves round out their preseason action at 2 p.m. CT against the Everblades.
