BILOXI, Miss. � Mississippi Sea Wolves Professional Hockey announced on Sunday, that the team has signed defenseman Andrei Lupandin (AHWN-dray LEW-pahn-dihn).
Lupandin, 25, split last season between the Greensboro Generals and Jackson Bandits of the ECHL. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound native of Kharkiv, Ukraine suited up in 14 games with Greensboro, picking up an assist and 20 penalty minutes. He appeared in 45 games with Jackson, tallying five goals and 17 assists for 22 points to go along with 10 penalty minutes. Lupandin enters his fifth full season of professional hockey.
The addition gives Mississippi four defensemen, eight forwards and two goaltenders on its training camp roster.
The first training camp practice is from 10-11:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. All practices are open to the public.
Mississippi travels to Estero, Florida for two preseason games against the Florida Everblades at TECO Arena on Saturday, October 11 at 6:30 p.m. CT and at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday, October 12.
The Sea Wolves home opener is at 7:35 p.m. on Friday, October 17 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum against the Louisiana IceGators.
