BILOXI, Miss. - Mississippi Sea Wolves coach Bob Woods announced today that equipment manager Scott Moon re-signed for the 2002-03 season.
Selected by his peers, to the East Coast Hockey League 2002 All-Star Game in Trenton, New Jersey, Moon enters his 15th year of professional hockey and second in Mississippi. His equipment manager experience includes six seasons in Orlando of the International Hockey League, highlighted by being a part of the 2001 Turner Cup Championship.
A native of Utica, New York, Moon has also been head equipment manager in his hometown of Utica and in Albany, both of the American Hockey League. During the 1992-93 season, he was assistant equipment manager for the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League.
"I'm excited to be back. Our staff had a great comeraderie last season and it was a terrific situation. With the new group of owners making things happen off the ice, I'm really looking forward to the coming season," said Moon. "I've had an enjoyable summer spending time with my family. In the upcoming weeks, I'm going to help out in the front office until we get closer to the drop of the puck."
"Scott is one of the Sea Wolves family. He contributed a lot to our success last season," said Woods. "He's been in the NHL, on championship teams and he raises the standard of professionalism."
Mississippi opens the season at Baton Rouge on Saturday, October 12.
The home opener for the Sea Wolves is Sunday, October 13 against instate rival Jackson at 5:05 p.m.
Parking is free for all home games and season ticket prices have been lowered by as much as $50 per seat.
