BILOXI, Miss. - Mississippi Sea Wolves coach Bob Woods announced today right wing Seneque Hyacinthe (suh-NEEK / HI-ah-sinth) signed for the 2002-03 season.
Hyacinthe, 21, split last season with Val d�Or and Rimouski of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. In Val d�Or, the 6-foot, 185-pounder collected 17 goals, 22 assists and 65 penalty minutes in 36 games. The Montreal native played 22 contests with Rimouski, tallying 12 goals, 12 assists and he also accumulated 47 penalty minutes.
�I�m really happy to be in Mississippi,� said Hyacinthe. �The QMJHL is known for scoring. I hope to be a strong offensive player for the Sea Wolves.�
�Seneque is a skilled player and point producer,� said Woods. �Hyacinthe played with former Sea Wolves forward Nick Greenough in Val-d�Or and I expect him to be an exciting player to watch.�
Mississippi�s preseason home game is free for everyone! The puck drops at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 4 against Pensacola at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
The Sea Wolves regular season home opener is at 5:05 p.m. on Sunday, October 13 against the Jackson Bandits.
