Bewley Signs; Placed On Injured Reserve

BILOXI, Miss. � Mississippi Sea Wolves coach Bob Woods announced today defenseman Steve Bewley (BEW-lee) has signed for the 2002-03 season and has been placed on 30-day injured reserve.

Bewley, 26, played the past four years at Ryerson University in Toronto. He split last season playing part as a defenseman, the other as a goaltender. On the blueline, the 6-foot-1, 210-pound native of Oakville, Ontario played 12 games, tallying one goal, three assists and picking up 16 penalty minutes. Between the pipes, Bewley posted a record of 0-3, had a 3.50 goals-against average and .910 save percentage.

The Sea Wolves opens their seventh season as a member of the East Coast Hockey League tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. at Baton Rouge.

Before the game Sunday at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, the Sea Wolves will retire Bob Woods uniform number 8. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. An adult purchasing an individual game ticket at all Sunday home games this season, will receive one FREE ticket for a child 12 and under.
