BILOXI, Miss. � Mississippi Sea Wolves coach Bob Woods announced today goaltender Sean Matile (Mah-TEEL) has been placed on the 7-day injured reserve, while Chuck Thuss has been signed as an emergency backup goaltender.
Matile, 27, has appeared in five games with Mississippi this season. The 6-foot-4 and 215-pound native of Vernon, British Columbia has posted a 2-2-0 record, 1.43 goals-against average, collected one shutout and .950 save percentage.
Thuss, 30, played four seasons with the Sea Wolves and is currently the Director of Player Development for the organization. The 6-foot-1 and 210-pound native of Arkona, Ontario is the all-time team leader in goaltender wins with 58 and holds the Sea Wolves career shutout record with eight.
Mississippi visits Louisiana tonight for a home-and-home set with the IceGators at 7:05 p.m. at the Cajundome in Lafayette.
The Sea Wolves return home for a rematch tomorrow for a 7:35 p.m. contest against the IceGators at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
