BILOXI, Miss. Mississippi Sea Wolves coach Bob Woods announced today the acquisition of defenseman Curtis Menzul (MEN-zul) from the Toledo Storm for future considerations.
Menzul, 26, played 12 games with Toledo this season, picking up two assists and 32 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-3 and 215-pound native of Winnipeg, Manitoba also appeared in one game with the Greenville Grrrowl this year.
Menzul will wear uniform number 2 and is expected to make his Mississippi on Saturday night at home at 7:35 p.m. against the Jackson Bandits.
Menzul is a steady, hard-nosed defenseman, said Woods. With blueliner Austin Miller injured, we expect Menzul to fill the void.
