Walby Named C&T; Hockey Products Plus Performer of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. � Mississippi right wing Steffon Walby is the C&T Hockey Products East Coast Hockey League Plus Performer of the Month for December.

Named as a starter in the 2003 Compuware/ECHL All-Star Game, Walby was even or plus in eight of Mississippi�s nine games in December finishing the month at +12. Despite missing 10 of Mississippi�s first 36 games, Walby leads the ECHL with seven game-winning goals and is tied for the ECHL lead with five shorthand goals and leads the Sea Wolves with eight power-play goals. He is second on the team with 18 goals and 43 points and third with 25 assists. In nine games in December, Walby scored eight goals, including four power-play goals, two game-winning goals and a shorthand goal, and 15 points. He had two four-point games in December, scoring three goals and picking up an assist against Jackson on December 21 and registering four assists against Arkansas on December 28. He scored a goal in four of his nine games and registered a point in seven of his nine games during the month. The Lodi, Wisconsin native was named to the All-ECHL First Team in 2001-02 after finishing second in the ECHL with 42 goals and third with 93 points in 63 games.

Runners Up: Dave Paradise, Mississippi (+11) and Jeremy Van Hoof, Pensacola (+11).

The Sea Wolves return to the ice tomorrow at 7:35 p.m. against Columbus at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. All military receive two tickets for the price of one, including NASA and Stennis employees.

On Saturday, Mississippi plays host to Pensacola at 7:35 p.m. at the Wolves Den.
