NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. � For the second straight game, the Arkansas RiverBlades used multiple power play goals, to knock off the Mississippi Sea Wolves, 4-2.
The Sea Wolves remain in second place in the Southwest Division with 50 points, four behind first place Louisiana, three points ahead of third place Arkansas.
Arkansas (20-13-7) opened the score on the power play at the 8:10 mark. Dean Stork unleashed a point shot in the high slot, driving it past Greg Gardner. Stork�s eighth of the year, made it 1-0 for the RiverBlades.
Mississippi (23-13-4) responded with a man advantage of its own at 18:08. Cody Bowtell buried his 16th of the campaign, beating Jason Saal in front of the net, tying the score 1-1.
In the second, the RiverBlades continued their success with the power play at 5:19. Ernie Hartlieb cashed in his 17th of the season, giving Arkansas a 2-1 lead.
At 10:02 of the middle stanza, Arkansas veteran Jason Bermingham re-directed a Matt Pagnutti shot past Gardner. Bermingham�s 20th of the year, made it 3-1 Arkansas through 40 minutes.
In the third, Pagnutti iced the game, converting a pass into the back of the Sea Wolves net at 18:06. Pagnutti netted his 11th of the year, making it 4-1 Arkansas.
Mississippi forward Darryl Campbell scored 22 seconds later. Campbell�s fifth of the year, rounded out the scoring.
Gardner turned away 19-of-25 shots, dropping his record to 18-10-4. Saal stopped 21-of-23, improving to 15-10-6.
Mississippi went 1-for-7 on the power play. Arkansas converted on 2-of-5 chances with the man advantage.
