BILOXI, Miss. � Mississippi Sea Wolves coach Bob Woods announced today forward Stu Pietersma (PEET-uhrs-mah) has been placed on the 7-day injured reserve.
Pietersma, 21, leads the East Coast Hockey League with 31 fighting majors, which is also tied for the Sea Wolves team record in one season with Kevin Evans, set in the 1996-97 season. The 6-foot-2 and 225-pound native of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta has scored three goals and collected six assists for nine points in 55 games this season to go along with 269 penalty minutes.
The Sea Wolves host intrastate rival Jackson tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
