Basiuk Added To All-Star Game Roster

BILOXI, Miss. � The ECHL announced that future Mississippi Sea Wolves defenseman Scott Basiuk, who is playing for the Bakersfield Condors has been added to the National Conference roster for the ECHL All-Star Game presented by Bud Light, which will be played on January 25 at Save Mart Center in Fresno, California.

Basiuk was scheduled to play for the Sea Wolves this season, however Hurricane Katrina forced the team into an extended offseason. His rights return to Mississippi in the offseason.

In his second professional season, the 25-year-old Basiuk has 17 points (1g-16a) in 31 games with Bakersfield. In his rookie season in 2004-05, he had six points (1g-5a) in 27 games with South Carolina and nine points (2g-7a) in 42 games with Dayton while also playing one game in the AHL with Portland.

Basiuk will be joined at the All-Star Game by future Sea Wolves forward Matt Craig and former Mississippi defenseman Ryan Gaucher. Former Sea Wolves center Nicolas Corbeil was also selected, however he is on loan to Lowell of the American Hockey League and will not take part in the game.
