BILOXI, Miss. � Former Mississippi Sea Wolves head coach and director of hockey operations Marc Potvin has died at the age of 38.
The Mississippi Sea Wolves organization is deeply saddened and extend condolences to the Potvin family.
In 1999-00, Potvin led the Sea Wolves in his only season with the team to a 35-27-8 regular season record and a Southern Conference Wild Card series playoff win over Pensacola, 2 games to 1, before losing to Louisiana in the Southern Conference Quarterfinals, 3 games to 1.
In the summer of 2000, Potvin was promoted to Springfield of the American Hockey League where he spent two seasons as the head coach of the Falcons.
He was in his second season as head coach and director of hockey operations with the Adirondack Frostbite based in Glens Falls, New York of the United Hockey League.
Potvin also played 121 games as a forward in the National Hockey League with Detroit, Los Angeles, Hartford and Boston, and was part of the Kings� 1993 Stanley Cup runner-up team.
