BILOXI, Miss. � The Central Hockey League announced that future Mississippi Sea Wolves defenseman Gio Flamminio of the Oklahoma City Blazers has been selected to play for the Northern Conference at the 2006 All-Star Game.

Flamminio signed with Mississippi during the summer, however, Hurricane Katrina forced the Sea Wolves into an extended offseason and the 21-year-old was forced to play for another club. The team will return in October and the rights to Flamminio return to Mississippi.

A native of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Flamminio has netted three goals and 16 points in 27 games this season, while accumulating 40 penalty minutes. The 6-foot and 185-pound Flamminio is in his first professional season.

The CHL All-Star Game will be held on Wednesday, January 18 at Dodge Arena in Hidalgo, Texas.
