ECHL All-Stars Have Sea Wolves Presence

BILOXI, Miss. The starting lineup and rosters for the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Bud Light consist of future Sea Wolves forward Matt Craig and former Mississippi defenseman Ryan Gaucher along with former center Nicolas Corbeil.

The 2006 ECHL All-Star Game will be played on January 25 at Save Mart Center in Fresno, California.

Named to the National Conference, the 23-year-old Craig was signed by Mississippi prior to the 2005-06 season but was forced to look elsewhere after Hurricane Katrina sent the Sea Wolves into an extended offseason. In his first professional season with the Utah Grizzlies, the 6-foot and 195-pound Craig is second among league rookies with 19 goals and fourth in scoring with 32 points in 30 games and among all players is fourth in goals and tied for 10th in scoring.

Alaska Aces 27-year-old defenseman Ryan Gaucher, who was also selected to the National Conference, is making his second start and his third appearance in the ECHL All-Star Game. The 6-foot and 195-pound Gaucher leads ECHL defensemen with 23 assists, three game-winning goals and 30 points in 24 games. Gaucher, who was voted as a starter with Cincinnati in 2003, was the Sea Wolves only representative at the 2000 ECHL All-Star Game in Greenville, South Carolina and scored a goal in the contest. In 1999-00, Gaucher appeared in 50 games as a rookie with Mississippi tallying five goals and 32 points.

Making his second consecutive American Conference All-Star appearance is the Augusta Lynx center Nicolas Corbeil, who is tied for seventh in the league with 32 points (13g-19a) in 27 games. The 22-year-old Corbeil appeared in last years ECHL All-Star Game representing the Sea Wolves and registered an assist in Reading, Pennsylvania. The 5-foot-11 and 177-pound Corbeil accumulated 13 goals and 39 points in 53 games with Mississippi in 2004-05.

The Sea Wolves will return to action in October for their 10th Anniversary Season.
