BILOXI, Miss. � The Alaska Aces of the ECHL announced that they will donate $10,350 to the Mississippi Sea Wolves organization in a continuing effort to help those affected by Hurricane Katrina, which wiped out Mississippi�s 2005-06 ECHL season.
The money was raised in a postgame jersey auction following Alaska�s 3-2 shootout win over Fresno on Saturday in Anchorage.
The jerseys auctioned off were game-worn from that game, as the Aces sported the Mississippi colors as a tribute to the Sea Wolves organization, which plans to return to the ECHL in time for the 2006-07 season.
The highest bid in the auction was $800 for the jersey of Chris Minard, whose 15 goals rank second in the league.
