Sea Wolves, Drake Agree To Terms
BILOXI, Miss. Mississippi Sea Wolves head coach and director of hockey operations Steffon Walby announced today that the team has agreed to terms with left wing Lucas Drake.

Drake, 25, enters his second full season with Mississippi and in professional hockey. The 5-foot-10 and 185-pound Drake tallied eight goals and 19 assists for 27 points in 63 games last season, while accumulating 40 penalty minutes. Named Mississippis Rookie of the Month for February, 2005, Drake collected a career high three assists on February 1 against Texas. A native of Holt, Michigan, Drake played four years with the Western Michigan Broncos of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association from 2000-04 before joining Mississippi for the final nine games of the 2003-04 regular season and five postseason games.

Im really excited to return to Mississippi, Drake said. I have a lot of respect for coach Walby. Hes going to put together a team that works hard and is dedicated. Its time for us to make a statement again in the playoffs.

Lucas stands for a lot of where we want to go with the club, Walby said. Drake is tenacious, energetic, brings a lot of speed and is hungry to move up to the next level. He is also known for his outstanding penalty killing, but I expect Lucas will produce even more in the offensive department this season.

Drake becomes the fifth Mississippi player to sign for 2005-06, joining left wing Anthony Battaglia, right wing Jay Legault, defenseman Chris Cava and center Olivier Filion.

Mississippi opens its 10th Anniversary season on the road at Pensacola on October 22.

The Sea Wolves home opener is October 28 against Texas at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
