Brookbank Signs With Predators
NASHVILLE, Tenn. � The Nashville Predators announced that they have agreed to terms with former Mississippi Sea Wolves defenseman Sheldon Brookbank.

In his first professional season of 2001-02, the 6-foot-2 and 210-pound Brookbank had 29 points (8g-21a) and 137 penalty minutes in 62 regular season games and five points (1g-4a) and 27 penalty minutes in 10 Kelly Cup Playoff games with Mississippi. A native of Lanigan, Saskatchewan, Brookbank also appeared in six games with Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League, where he notched one assist and 24 penalty minutes.

Last season while playing for the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks of the American Hockey League, the 24-year-old Brookbank had 12 points (1g-11a) and ranked third on the team with 181 penalty minutes in 60 regular season games and 40 penalty minutes in 11 playoff games.

The Sea Wolves open their 10th Anniversary season on October 22 at Pensacola.

Mississippi drops the puck on its home opener on October 28 against Texas at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
