![]() The Mississippi Sea Wolves announced the formation of the Sea Wolves Foundation on July 25, 2007. The Mississippi Sea Wolves Foundation was formed to meet the educational, social, health and cultural needs of our community by offering unique resources and programs, as well as financial support to local charitable organizations. “We feel a tremendous responsibility to support our friends and neighbors on the Gulf Coast ,” stated Mike Rogers, who will serve as Chairman of the Board of the Sea Wolves Foundation. “We’ve had such great support from our fans for the past 12 years and the Sea Wolves Foundation has been formed to focus our community efforts.” Joining Rogers on the Foundation’s board will be Erroll Hotard of Hotard Coaches, Dr. Mike Diaz of Coastal County Imaging Open MRI, Wes Fulmer of People’s Bank, and Mississippi Sea Wolves president Bill Yates. “We are very excited to see the Sea Wolves back, but even more exciting is their commitment to the Gulf Coast,” said Diaz. “This foundation will be a tremendous asset to our community.” The foundation will be active throughout the year, participating in programs such as Caps for Kids Cancer and Blue Cross & Blue Shield’s Healthy Goals as well as the Sea Wolves’ numerous charitable fundraising efforts. In recent years, the Sea Wolves organization has engaged in more than 10,000 hours of community service, raised over $300,000 for non-profit organizations, and donated more than $40,000 worth of team merchandise to local causes. Players and members of the front office have appeared in front of more than 20,000 children at 55 local schools and attended over 500 civic and charitable events. |
